Suitable sleeping bag for couples?

Hi, I & my husband are buying a small woodland and intend to spend time bivouacing & camping there, I am trying to find a suitable sleeping bag or two that can be zipped together that will be suitable for year-round, in a bivouac or tent. We have a double Coleman sleeping bag but I don't think it will do the job as it is not waterproof and needs extra blankets in colder conditions. Any suggestions?

Some manufacturers make sleeping bags with left or right sided zips.
I know Vango certainly used to.
You might try looking at a few camping websites for bags with a L+R option.
They should be compatible.

For use in a tent I'd suggest a couple of decent thermarests (or similar) and a blanket of some description underneath you, and a duvet on top. If you're planning to sleep under a tarp or similar bivouac type camp then the same set up but with a double bivvy bag to keep it all dry would be my suggestion. The feather duvet from my bed at home packs down smaller and lighter than two sleeping bags of similar warmth, and has the added bonus of a built in hot-water-blonde

I really depends on budget. Big Agnes do a double down bag but its £300ish. Rated to -9 though so great for UK winter

My wife and I use two downmats ( 7 LWs) joined together with the coupler kit and then zip the two sleeping bags together to create a big duvet. It produces a really comfortable double sleeping set up and the downmats insulating properties mean you don't need a bag underneath you except in winter.

me and swmbo tried zip together bags. everytime i ended up squished up one side as she loves her covers. we now have toasty seperate bags and i can sleep comfortably

i would say try a down blanket possibly?

A vango wilderness double doesn't break the bank, me and my lady use that and a wool blanket on top. Car camping only though, its huge!

Yup, double bag from big Agnes is about it option wise.

Of you need to adjust your requirements by getting heat from a stove, hot water bottle etc.

+1 vango double. Think ours is the wilderness one. Good to a comfort of -7C.
