Hi All,
Late to the party (not unusual for me)! Unfortunately, I've been manic with a new business over the last three months so 'real life' has gotten in the way of all things outdoors and leisure related. This also means that I won't be able to join you on Friday as originally planned but will arrive on Saturday morning instead.
MarkinLondon has kindly been making all arrangements on my behalf (many thanks Mark) and I'm looking forward to coming along to meet you all and getting some time to chill in the woods. I'm a newbie to Bushcrafting, but not camping/ Scouting etc. so it's a case of 'some of the gear but no idea' so I'm looking to learn a lot from you all. Usually if I'm out and about it's been under canvass/ nylon but for the first time I'm going to try to be a 'ground hog' this weekend so that should be interesting to say the least (and yes, to some of you it will seem that I'm 'glamping' but please don't judge me, I'm only trying to enjoy myself
)
I notice in 'post #1' the restriction on non-regulars not being able to shoot, which I fully understand, however, could someone tell me what I need to do / what documentation to bring along on Saturday so that I can shoot on future visits? I am an FAC holder, Chairman of a Home Office registered shooting club, Secretary of The National Target Shotgun Association, a member of The Blue Team (Metropolitan Police Shooting Club), a UKPSA Competition Licence holder a UKPSA Qualified RO and a professional pest controller and film/ TV armourer. I'm quite happy not to shoot until 'you have the measure of me' but would like to know the procedure for qualifying to do so in the future. That said, for me this weekend isn't about the shooting, I'm more interested in meeting like minded individuals and learning some bushcrafting skills, but it would be nice to have the option shoot in the future if the mood takes me.
Really looking to meeting you all on Saturday and the craic and pi$$-taking which usually goes on at such friendly gatherings.
Cheers
Steve
