Does anybody know where I can get some of the stretchy mesh fabric that they use on rucksacks for bottle pockets and things? I only want a metre or so for a project but don't really know what it is called which is hampering my search. I have found a lot of the really thin stuff for dressmaking but am struggling to find the thick outdoorsy stuff

Thanks I will have to keep looking though, another Brexit benefit is that they have a minimum order of €160 before they will sell to the UK

We used to use Point North fabrics for stuff like this.

I will have a looks. I know I also got really excellent remnants from Discount Fabrics though, but that was years ago.

Now called ProFabrics :)

they were very approachable in the past, and it's worth an email or a phone call for something specific. They had more stuff than they put on the website.

I bought a load off of the bay of evil

Might also be worth a trip to Sainsburys, as they sell (or did) nylon mesh bags as reusable vegetable bags, last time i was there there were piles of them, i bought quite a few for use as foraging bags and for repurposing in other projects, think they were about 30p each, they are white though

Ah yeah, forgot the HMRC enforcing sellers to collect tax on less than 160. So they just don't.

Cargo netting. We use it in the campervan ready made up into screw frames, to store books, torches etc.
