strange worm

I spotted this odd worm like thing wrapped around a flower head dropped from a false Acacia tree overlooking my garden, (probably by pigeons). as thin as a sewing needle and cold to touch, any ideas?

Looks like a tape worm

Probably some species of "Gordion" worm. The ones here are pale brown and live in aquatic/very wet habitat.

Dang double post. Sorry. Another common name for them is "horse-hair worm."

Ha HA. We call those thread worms or sometimes 'sewing worms' but I've never seen one in a tree.

Mongolian death worm. Run away very quickly.
