Stove jack install

Has anyone installed a rubber silicone stove jack to their tent ? The bolt in variety ,
Is there anything I should know or be aware of before I go cutting into the tent

Remember to cut round the inner rather than outer ring - sounds obvious but it has been known to end in tears!

I would be interested in pictures of the install if possible, I have one of the stove jacks and I'm looking to install it at some point.

I fitted one in my bell tent when I bought it. Was really straight forward but I was nervous about cutting my brand new tent. The way I done it was to hold the plate against the tent and poke a hole through each corner. I then bolted the stove jack in on the corners then poked through the other holes and fitted the rest of the bolts. Once bolted in I cut out the middle.
