Take the sleeping bag out of its compression sack, either hang it up in a cupboard or lay it flat in an airing cupboard, this will help maintain the loft effect of the bag.

Do the same with the cotton liner once it has been washed.

I agree with Phil about the therma-rest let it unroll and open the valve to allow it to dry inside (somtimes therma-rest get a little vapour inside and the foam can mildew reducing thier effectiveness).

Is the travel pillow inflatable or cloth and foam. Inflatables just open the valve and let the air out. Cloth and foam treat as you would treat any pillow in your house.

Canoe bag, ensure that it is dry, fold it and place in rucksack then stuff rucksack out the way somewhere dry, but dark (under stairs or bed or in the back of a locker). that should be pretty much the lot:)

Get rid of the girlfriend, then strew the kit everywhere :D :D
If you've the space, get a wardrobe for just the kit. Sling the sleeping bag over a rail, put the bag on the floor underneath, hang the canoe bag, liner and pillow off the rail, and prop the thermarest up, unrolled, against the wall.
Never ever leave the sleeping bag in it's stuffsack :)

my sleeping bags on on the top cuboards of a fitted wardrobe. The thermarest could go in the main bit behind the girlfrinds clothes. The liner should be fine in it's bag

Dont forget to check your kit for damage that may require repairing and remove any excess dirt before putting your gear into storage. I always give the old sleeping bag a quick airing outside for a few hours just to release any unwanted smells, as you dont want them lingering around until the next adventure. I think there bits of my gear stashed in every roon in the house and then also at my mothers house as well (its good to have lots of kit, thats what I tell myself anyway).

Sleeping bags are best stored out of their stuff sacks, storing them tightly packed supposedly reduces their lofting ability. Therma rests should be stored flat with the valve open.
