Storage heater bricks, any good for a forge?

Hi in my garage I have a bunch of bricks out of a storage heater, would these be any good to line a knife forge/furnace type thing.

Ye I think they would do a food job as they retain the heat which will keep the stove warm but be carefully as they will get very hot
 
The guy who shares my barn/workshop used these to make a sort of half-forge where he welds and brazes, he's at it a lot of the time and gets them very very hot; he built this thing over 20 yrs ago and still uses it daily and it looks the same now as it did then.................atb mac
 
Good to hear, I made a knife last year using a few as a makeshift forge using a blow torch for the heat, and it done the job but was a bit concerned about life span or if they were going to blow up on me
