Anybody else into stationary engines, or any kind of other engines?

I picked up this 1943 J.A.P 2a yesterday.

I had a Lister ST1 for a few years. Never got around to making use of it in the way I'd intended.

Used to have a Stirrup engine that i inherited from my grandfather.

He was heavily into his engines and vintage bike (1900's White Heather) and used to display his stationary engine at steam rallies locally and as well as at places like Blandford for the Great Steam Rally.

I like Land Rovers if that counts? :D

Out of interest, what is the purpose of these? Are they functional or just for the sake of interest?
I love land Rovers. And tractors.

They were used by the army and RAF during the war. They ran things like generators or water pumps. Now it's just for the love of old engines.

Yes! They are not exactly cheap to buy, these days.

I would also like to get something a bit bigger like a Lister D or Junior, will be keeping an eye out for one at the right price.
