lovely!!

i prefer to have meat dry too,...

stewing it seems to lose it a bit,...

splay them head end down on a "y" shaped stick with the legs over embers,...

in my opinion they are sweet and less gamey than the bunnies,...

but i,ve eated crow too so maybe my opinion is not so trustworthy,....

hahah

Stu

crow, me too, we must both be untrustworthy.............lol.....

yeah did it back to front tho,.....

found an recipe in an oooold book that used beer to steam, bake it , kinda,...

so next time i was out, instead of leaving old joe to make his noise, i dropped a couple and tried it out,...

hahaha not too impressed, and ive since read that as a taker of carrion,.it should really be avoided,....

*shugs shoulders,. dint harm me,......*eye twitches,.....

Top tip - don't drown it (or be seen doing so at least ;))

The trap in the link is effective - the same one I use. Wrapped in foil at about 220 degrees for 25mins is good for me - just experimenting with the garnish now - going to wrap the carcass in bacon next time. Will play with the bbq option come summer I think.

When I was in my late teens I shot a couple of large squirrels and prepared them before taking them home where I told my family they were young rabbits. They all tucked into their "rabbit" stew with great relish and still have no idea to this day what they ate! I am now 55 and still find that recollection very amusing. :)
