Last night there was a lot of twitting across a field to the west of us but the twoooing was coming from all over the place including our garden. Clearly she’s a popular girl.

This morning, and most of the afternoon has been a pleasant spring day. Got some weeding done in the raised beds, ready for new plantings, but got chased indoors by a sudden, short, but intense hailstorm and thunder, just a few minutes ago.

Luckily, I'd finished the weeding in the large bed, just about finished the new bed, where i want to put in some blackcurrant bushes, and was about to get to grips with emptying and refilling some of the pots, ready for carrots, and other crops.

Think I'll call it a day, and have a cuppa instead. I can finish the rest tomorrow.

We saw our first swallows yesterday and heard our first willow warbler today. Plenty of other birds about, the humble chaffinchs must be nesting now as they are flapping around our windows collecting spider's webs for their nests.
