Afternoon all,

planning a trip out summer for a couple of nights with some of the boys instead of our annual canoe trip. Any suggestions on location with a 5-10 mile walk in, secluded preferably wooded area. Pubs en route would also help

Where abouts in the southeast was you thinking,badgells wood is a great campsite,not close to any pubs tho.

Ashdown Forest just west of Crowborough is nice. About the only semi wild-ish area I know of in the Sussex area.

Pubs? Yes, but you need to walk a couple if miles. Easier to bring a couple of six packs!

You can't go wrong wth Friston Forest. Big enough to get lost in, close to the coast (Seven sister country park) and loads of proper old english pubs in Alfriston and Lillington etc.. I free camp in there quite often, all year round.
