Lovely work. What wood are you using?

Thank you. All wood used for them was elder, the darker grain and twisty grain comes from near the base. the tree was cut down before i moved were i am now and what in left is 2 foot, a good 40 50 years old.

So it's well seasoned then. Is it hard to work?

I did manage them with my swiss champ, the darker wood is a lot harder, walnut was easier. Lucky i know how to keep a knife sharp lol.
The main reason i made some knife cos all i had was sak. I got one small blade left now to start on tomorrow, then my carving will be easier.
