some more of my latest leatherwork

heres a couple of things iv made lately. having a bit of a woodland theme right now!

first up a phone/camera pouch. this is the first time iv ever tried box stitch. pain in the rear and it didnt come out as well as i would have liked but i like the sturdiness it gives the pouch. i left the flesh side of the leather as it was for a rougher finish and i rather like it bit more character.

and then a bracer and a wrist cuff. really dissapointed with the bracer as i made a rookie mistake and got a smudge of black edge kote on it! first bracer iv ever made and i messed up a simple thing. aftert that i lost enthusiasm and just rivetted the fixings instead of sewing them on. and then the wee wrist cuff was just for fun really.

ah wish i had thought of that! good idea Ian. however a friend of mine bought this off me really cheap as soon as i uploaded a picture, he doesnt mind a smudge here or there so everyone is happy i guess.

i use a stitching prong to punch my stitch holes. may start using my stitch wheel and awl

Really, really nice. Love the tooling work, very tasty. The camera pouch is a stunner. I shall be attempting box stitch soon, it does seem tricky... I really like the buckles on the Bracer, where are they from?

the buckles i bought off ebay about a year ago i had completely forgotten about them until i was rummaging around me bits box. box stitch was fun if not very stressful. my curved awl blade has a pretty acute curve on it so it gooves the leather when making the curved holes. also broke 2 needs stitching so need to buy more! but will certainly do some more of it i love the finished result very study
