Some homemade things for the outdoors

Here a pic of my homemade things, the kuksa i made at home, the ther stuff in the field during courses or when resting near the fire in the outdoors.

I think it's a needle for net making etc.

The gadget most below is an awl,, I found some reindeer antler wheni was in Finnish Lapland and all I did was drilling a hole in it with a small handheld drill and fied a groove in it with my leatherman.

It's for making room in knots for putting another end throug it or to loosen a knot completely.

Could be, after all I'm a Dutchman........

My understanding is that a fid has a hole in the end to hold the end of a braided rope to be interwoven back through to make a splice. Confusing enough?

I do know wahat you mean, but that is not what i have made. It's an awl then.
