Sunny Wales!
Just wondered if anyone owned one, or both of above... and how they got on with them?

Seem good value for the money, was thinking of getting the softshell as an underlayer for the windshirt, or using on its own and packing the windshirt incase of heavy rain or poor weather!

Grateful for any user feedback, and also sizing... i've heard snupak where fairly generous with sizes, so i planned on large softsell, with XL windshirt over the top.

6ft 6" with 'athletic build'

TIA.

It only metions one being waterproof... the impression i got was one was a fleece type garment/windstopper, one a lightweight waterproof jacket.

wont be the first time i'm wrong though :)

thanks for pointing it out!

Just wondering if they do the job well, considering our current climate state!

regards TBL.

i have the elite softshell(made in china) and the original version with the TSI liner made in UK.http://www.lansdaleltd.com/prod.php/prod/VAPSS
the original is a very useful garment for me, i wear it as a shirt with the liner directly in contact with my skin.
i tend to run very hot and this jacket wicks well and the front zip is full length to allow further ventilation as required.
both are wind proof and very light but i definately prefer the original version to the elite.
although the outer shells are supposed to be the same material i find the uk version more water resistant, it has less seams for a start and responds very well to an application of grangers superpruf whilst retaining its wicking qualities.

i have the elite windshirt, i use it over a sweater or something as it is windproof. or under a smock. it's a good cut, long in the body, quite fitted, and good sleeve length. the hood however is rubbish, so i leave it rolled up. i like mine, and is very water resistant when new or proofed, however if your missus washes it is not. it's a step up from a zoot top, which i also use. it's a poor mans featherlite IMHO, and i usually pack it for any travel. it'll fit in a cargo pocket, and i usually bung it in a small stuff sack and leave it in my bag. also use it on my bike.

Thanks for the reply guys... Still sounds good value then.

I'm just looking for a cheap semi-technical top (windproof/shower/warm) that isn't going to result in a serious case of 'eye dribble' if it catches a spark around a campfire.

I like the colors, cut seems good.

Think i may give one a go, Regards, TBL.
