  • Merry Christmas Guest, we hope that you have a great day wherever you are, and we're looking forward to hearing of your adventures in the New Year!
Harvestman - What mat was it that failed on you? Just curious, as it's always good to know how far a piece of equipment can be pushed before breaking. Thanks to you two I now know that my tatonka kettle doesn't like the cold. :)

Beautiful pics and excellent write up lads - really enjoyed it.

My mat was a Gelert 3/4 Xtreme Lite inflatable. It has been a good reliable mat and I've had it years, and it wasn't expensive so if it is dead I have no complaints. It may be repairable. I'd get another, or at least consider one.

Just to add on this, I am unable to detect any obvious failure in the inflatable mat so far. It seems to be holding up well at home. it is possible that I managed to untwist the valve accidentally during the night, which would have caused the deflation. I hope so, because the mat has been good.

Edit: Hmm, seems to be a slow puncture. May not have happened during the trip.
