25% is a respectable catch rate for most people. However you can increase your chances if you are only setting a few snares, particularly where there are lots of runs but you’re not sure which one to set snare on, get out very early in the morning when the dew is still on the ground after a damp night and you will be able to see which runs are being used and which are not, leave it too late and the dew will be gone as will the evidence. Look at the beats (the flattened areas of grass that rabbits make when running out into the field) and choose a small one to set snare on, the small beats are where the rabbits are moving fastest, the larger beats are where the rabbits are moving slower or even sitting. If you have the time you can even sit quietly (with wind in right direction) and watch from a distance which runs the rabbits are emerging from in the evening as it gets dark, you then know which ones to set. Good luck.
