Snake ID Help

BOD

Bushcrafter (boy, I've got a lot to say!)
I cannot identify this snake with any confidence. About 1metre or more.

We were at about 200m a.s.l. Terrain was fast streams, rapids and waterfalls with rocky sides (you can see how well he blends in) in steep heavily forested tropical rainforest on Langkawi Island near the Thai-Malaysian border.

I think it might be Rhabdophis subminiatus. Any suggestions welcome.

Damned if I could see it in the last two pictures...

It isn't. That was to show the habitat. Sorry if you got a headache squinting at them:eek:

A nature guide on the island who I emailed has replied and concurs that it is the red necked keelback.

Not a snake to touch as it is venomous and the toxin makes your blood clot in the veins in different parts of your body till there is no clotting agents platelets etc left in you then you bleed elsewhere like through your skin. yuk!

Great snake to watch as it hunts though
