Smock drawstring

Hello,

Recently received a Swedish snow smock, which arrived without a drawstring in the waist.
I would like to add one to the waist and hem myself but don't really know where to start.
Any suggestions, advice would be most welcome.

Does it have the channel to insert a drawstring?

If it does then get a piece of wire, tape the string to it and insert at one end and work it round until it comes out the other end.

If it doesn't then you've got to sew a layer of cloth in to act as a channel. Once you've done that then you fit cord as described above.

just posted in the swedish snow smock thread. as Mesquite said. i took the internal drawcord out of my smock and wont be using it so if you want i can post it to you for nowt so you have the proper cord for it

yeah i was kindly gifted some cutouts from a polish lavuu to patch the holes up in mine not so long ago on here. gotta pay it forward right

thread it through with a small safety pin a bit at a time. easy way

Thank you all for the kind helpful responses, especially dreadhead with his kind offer, I now feel i can add a drawstring to my smock with relative ease....i hope.
