Could be. I can not ask, dad is in Valhalla chasing valkyries.

But he was issued a bayonet in -44 or early -45 made from a similar alloy.
He hid all his equipment, the lot, in -45, and took it out from hiding in -93 with me.
I have the bayonet, sis has the knife. Dad and me burned most of it, some we took apart and threw in a lake, except one piece which I disposed of after his departure.

If somebody want to benefit from the superior quality armed firces clothing has, but does not want to look like a wannabe mil nerd, it is easy to colour the fabric. Dark blue, black.
