Sitting in the garden at minus 3

My neighbours will definitely think I'm strange.

I decided to test out just how good one of my little stoves are. Initial experiments found that my front was warm but my back was cold.

After retrieving a thin blanket for my shoulders I found I could sit out and be really quite comfortable. In an emergency a wee stove like this would certainly keep you alive through the night. With a proper reflector set up it might even allow you to get some sleep.

It was certainly a lot more than minus 3 in the vicinity of the stove.

See if the snow gets heavy ? try your wee stove then and see how little it sinks into the stuff.
I was really, really surprised and pleased that my hobo stove didn't sink in at all when I tried it in all thon snow a couple of years ago

Don't worry, I got a snugpak sasquatch jacket for my birthday a few weeks ago. It was about 1 degree outside but I had to just go and stand out back for a bit to see how warm it was.

I live at the end of a three in a row, and the gable ends of the two nearest blocks face my garden; I just grow beech hedges and ivy, honeysuckle and rose covered fences
Very peaceful, very green, and very encouraging for wildlife. Astonishing how much privacy they permit. The neighbours get used to us playing after a while, though the smell of woodsmoke can be a giveaway
