i'd have to find it from under the pile of other stuff in the corner of the shed that i've made similiar stupid mistakes with, it can stay there and rot for all i care;(

Don't look at it that way Nat.

Yes you made a mistake but try and find a positive. If you're getting orders from people for hook knifes you're bound to get one come along for that type and you've got it ready to go. Just wrap it up, grease up the blade so it doesn't rust and wait for that order :) Which hand is it for, left or right btwl[?

If it's the "wrong way round" would'nt it do for a left handed person NatG? I also take it someone won't be carving any spoons next week then LOL

There is a backup plan which involves saturday morning, an angle grinder and a quick dash to the post office, it won't be as shiny but it will be every bit as god:)

it's a left handed one, i'll probbably go and fish it out and make a matching pair as a gift at some stage, i know some people like to use two at a time

anyway a left hand crook knife is useful for right handers for some jobs due to the run of the grain

It also depends upon HOW you carve. The primary way is to pull towards you in carving with a hook-knife. But some people prefer to push away. So a "left-hand" hook knife easily becomes a "right-hander" for someone who carves by pushing away from their body.

Yes, my ... scrap pile ... has lots of such "mistakes" in them. Eventually they get used for some other project, or just ... re-worked.
