Sika Deer

I live in Arne in Dorset and we have a LOT of sika deer.

Just recently I have noticed a lot of tufts of deer hair (I think) around. If this is due to moulting then it doesn't make any sense as winter isn't over, and according to what I have read about sika they don't moult until about April.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

if you pull one strand of hair and it snaps easy its deer hair,it could be dog fur????otherwise look around and see if you can find it above ground level..
