Just thought I would share with you a little carving project I did the other day,a shrink pot I carved out of a pine branch.Fun and quite easy to make.

Me too. Looks like a rare style of carving that I'd enjoy doing, over and over.
Then, I'd know what to look for, other than pine.
We lost 18,000,000 ha pine to Mountain Pine Beetle.
 
They are easy to carve,there is a video on YouTube that would show you better than me explaning it lol.it was geen pine that a tree surgeon had cut down at the cemetery where my dad is at rest.I used an auger and a carving knife to make mine.

That's a really well made video. Looks like time well wasted.
Broad collection of wood carving clamping devices.
Diverse gouges and crooked knives, even Mocotaugan style.

Will visit the rustic furniture shop this afernoon, I need to find the auger.
