Hey Folks, I have spent a couple days and nights reading everything I can about bushcraft members, places and things, this is a wonderful place to say the least.
I am a curious type person, If I can see a link or a pic., "general geography", it really helps me to see who I am reading about. It could be a postcard from that state, a picture out of a "History of your town", anything that would put a human touch on the people I am reading about.
Silly request, I hope not, a link would be wonderful for me to know in a general way that the person that resides in town "A" often visits public place "B" (example, favorite waterfall) within this town or country, try to narrow it down a bit if you can to at least a couple hundred miles or less. I will start off with a link to where I live, you can click on other things to get an idea the type area I live in. This is my area.....at the foot of the GREAT Smoky Mountains. Thanks.

P.S. This is a random picked web site on east Tennessee.

John, WOWEE ! Thats what I mean !, then if you find anything later that is any different or you want to add, just post again, this will make for many hours of good reading during these cold winter days and nights, we can just continue checking the links to make sure we covered each persons area well, thank you !

Trust me Robbie, you probably don't want to know too much about Aldershot...

It's a smallish town on the borders of the UK counties of Surry and Hampshire (on Hampshire side) and is Englands original Military Town. The border in question is the border between the ancient Kingdoms of Wessex and Sussex and has been relatively unchanged for the last 1,400 years. Prior to 1856 Aldershot was a small villiage with a large quantity of common land around it. Then, after the Crimean war, the govenrment purchased the land and built a camp there. The original camp was mostly tents; but in the 1880s permenant barracks were put up, which have been replaced several times over the last 120 years. In the late 19th-early 20thC Aldershot had the recond for the most brothels per square mile in the UK - a record which I think we can all reflect on...

It has countryside on the east and west sides, but this is military land, and although open to the public can be closed for excersice purposes. The town itself is quite run down and the town centre is best avoided on a Friday and Saturday night. It does however have two seperate military suppliers shops, and one of the best games shops (as in board and Role playing - not selling pheasants....) in the country.

It's my home and I'm glad to live there, but that doesn't blind me to the places many faults. Here's a link to some pictures of the place: http://www.geocities.com/alderweb/index.html

Well everyone seems to live in much nicer places than me. Maybe not Womble, I've been to Aldershot, but like you say it is home and that counts for a lot. I found a few websites of Bedford but they don't have many pics (they want you to visit) we do have a good rugby club with a great atmosphere at midweek games.

This however is the village I live in since last Saturday which is much nicer than Bedford. I am now poor due to having a morgage for the first time with my wife but hopefully it is worth it.

I may have to take some more pics myself to post as this is about the only one I could find on the web.

Great thread by the way Robbie

Here's a photo tour of the area I live in. I've spent a lot of time on the Big Sur coast whale watching and hiking the Redwood forests and hills. Fishing is excellent in Monterey Bay, where Salmon, stripped bass and other excellent eating fish are caught from the shoreline during their annual runs. Hog and deer hunting is superb and wild turkey flocks are everywhere. A few photos I've taken of the area. The first is a quiet spot where I go to just sit and think things over. The second is the Carmel Spanish Mission. Next is just a shot of the Carmel River. Good Steelhead fishing during their run. Finally, a sunrise.

a few link to my patch. General fall under Bradford - some really good bits to the area ie Ilkley Moor and then some very run down bits

RA, That's NOT FAIR!!!

I live near Reading and there are no worthy shots of there. However here is a shot of Dinton Pastures, which is about 20 minutes walk from me.

Its an old gravel extraction site that was dug to help build the acursed M25 London Orbital Car and Lorry Park (or the demon sigil Odegra depending on whether you believe the government or Crowley the demon).
Its now a nature reseverve and activity centre, with many rare species of orchid and migratory birds.
