Now that is a nice looking knife. I plan on having a go or two at stock removal knife making myself this year and to be honest, if my 22nd attempt looks that good I'll be chuffed with it, let alone the 2nd.

Nice knife, the photo seems to show some colouration of the blade, is it damascus or progressively heat treated?

No its just plain 01 stock, I think there is some Danish Oil on the blade ( id just oiled the handle ) and I think the sunlight is catching it.

Thats odd. I thought it was the reflection of some trees in the polish on the blade. Someone will be seeing castles and galleons under full sail in there before long

Yummy! I love seeing texture on a knife blade if the whole design is old fashioned. One of the reasons why I like carbon steel, the blades take on a certain amount of stain and/or rust then seem to stabalize into a nice character blade.
