Hi all long time no post.

I'm going to have a go at the Wainrights Coast to Coast in late September. I was doing it solo but now my Son has decided it might be nice to come along. A pack shared is a pack halved plus it will be nice to have him along of course.

Any how I was going to do it with a Golite Shangri La 3 (Which I now have) and a Serenity Net Tent. (yet to be purchased) http://www.sixmoondesigns.com/shop/shopexd.asp?id=55

This was to keep the weight down and leave ground for my pooch who would only damage a nest if inside. Now of course it won't be enough for two.

Is anyone here using this combination and if so would the Shangri La 3 house two of these Serenity Net Tents without much problem? It looks like it should but thought I'd ask.
Two of these will still weigh less than the dedicated nest.

Cheers!

If you're doing the walk in late September, I would suggest that you won't need the net inners. Save yourselves a lot of money and just get the groundsheet. There'll be enough room for all of you and you can wipe the sheet clean easily.

The groundsheet can be folded back over itself during cooking (if you have to cook inside) so you can use bare ground.

Having said that, if you feel you both want your own 'internal space', I'm guessing that you can attach both nests to the top of the pole.

Thank you,
Yes I did consider the midge count in September would be low.
I do like a net around me though and likewise my son. He is now considering buying a lightweight tent ... Wonder if it's to do with Mine and Toby's snoring :)
Funny, when I make my own shelters I'm not that bothered.

Anyhow I'm now looking for a decent lightweight solo tent around 60-70'ish quid.

I'll ask a new question for recomendations.

Cheers!
