I got a little utility pouch for my (definitely not a fad shut up) Savotta backpack, as I like to have my IFAK stored both externally and visibly just in case I come over all faint at the sight of a pair of Fjallraven trousers and someone needs to revive me. It needed velcro so that I could add some patches to make it more visible.
Haven't sewn anything for probably 15 years and unlike wine, leaving the skill alone to mature has not helped it. Less like wine, more like haddock.
Still, it's functional. The real star of the show was the Gorilla Contact Adhesive, which I used to cement the velcro in place before sewing it. That stuff is strong. I've also gone over the stitching on the inside of the pouch with it, as I hope that'll stop any snagging/stitching problems from usage and may even keep just a little more water out in the event of a sudden shower.
IFAK fits the pouch perfectly and I have a renewed appreciation for people who can sew neatly, especially through tough material.
