A friend sent me some mulberry wood. This is the first spoon from it, with enough left for several more.

Muddypaws, the mulberry was a pleasure to carve, very similar to some white oak I've worked with. You have to be careful about splintering because of the growth rings, but otherwise, very clean and predictable.

Nice work and some lovely looking wood too, you definitely have a spoon design parameter that you have made your own, not a criticism, many artists/craftspeople do similar. It is distinctive, clean lined and begs to be held in your hand. :)

Thanks all for the feedback. Rob, I appreciate hearing your perspective. Being myself, I don't see things objectively, so I enjoy hearing what things look like from the "outside."

The mulberry spoon would have been the perfect server for last night's chicken fried rice.
The maple spoon fairly displays your signature design concept which I've admired all along.
