Hello guys, I'm after a HUGE favour.
I need seasoned wood suitable for at least 4 Bow Drill Hearthboards.
Seasoned lime or ivy for instance.
I have the wood for the drills just not the boards.
If any of you fine people could help me out I would be very grateful!
Thanks for your time.

I ddin't know they made them out of poplar.
I broke up a pallet a few months back, it was made of teak  Crappy teak, but it was teak

cheers,

I think pallets are a bit like pork pies - they tend to be made out of offcuts and inexpensive stuff. Poplar tends to be widely used as it grows very fast and is widely available in quantity, it is also light and performs well under shock-loaded forces (i.e. being picked up and dropped by fork lift trucks). Some of the medieval war arrows were made out of Aspen (a member of the Poplar family) for that reason. :bluThinki
