Schrade Old Timer fixed blade

I'm offering for trade this Schrade Old Timer which is 1 million % better than it was when I got it but could use some tweaking.
OA length is 6 3/4" with a 3" blade.Marked SCHRADE USA 152.
Handled in Micarta-style with grooves to help grip.It looks like a skinner ; very pointy and could be real sharp and shiny too.The sheath is original but a little scabby : I guess it could be restored as it is sound.
In return I'm looking for some leather to make a sheath for my son's fixed blade and/or some leather working tools & materials or what have you.

I don't understand : it's sharp , it's shiny , and it's pointy so how come I still have it?
I don't need a great deal of leather in exchange so how about it?
