nice one Martti, swedish or roman candle or just a smouldering log.

i did a similar one at the last north wood meet, got the embers going with a honey stove on the top on friday, the embers then lasted all the way through the weekend and i was still doing a brew/cooking sunday morning.:D perfect for cooking on.

Thank you for being so interested on Finnish culture! Another version I have noticed being used before the jätkänkynttilä is simple two log stove as seen here during the Continuation War.

Well yes I am a huge seeker to everything that has to do with Scandianavian culture, and traditional techniques.
