Any recommendations for where to look for a decent length of rope?

I'm looking for something around 6-8mm x 20-25m. Strong, but not to the point of a massive price tag. Just strong enough for general use. Good abrasion resistance.

Something similar to this kind of thing:

Currently looking at 'Kingfisher Ropes' and on ropesdirect.co.uk.

Anywhere else worth checking?

Thanks.

I recently bought this to make some new guy-lines for the OZtent - it does the job :)

If you need it for non-human support ( IE you're not anticipating hanging off it yourself ) I would suggest you check out facebook marketplace - for whatever reason there tends to quite a bit there - Tree surgeons whom have found a nick in theirs and don't fancy taking the chance , rock climbers whom have gotten fat , H&S concerns over older rope etc.

Cheapest and fairly strong look for PA (polyamide) or as most people know it nylon, does not take sun light too well, polyester often a bit stronger and can take sun light. Leave PP (polypropene) alone, does not last long in sun and not very strong but it is CHEAP, cheap, cheap ...

I really should get my act together and sign-up for that. Seems like there's a lot to be found there.

Thanks for that reference. I do get a bit lost with all the poly-this and poly-that. It will probably get a fair bit of outdoors use, so polyester seems the best bet.
