Not so much something for out in the field but more for the garden at home for some open cooking and maybe forge work.

I recently saw a YouTube tutorial on building a free standing 16 and 1/2 brick rocket stove.

Decided to have a go and test is out and I must say its very good for what it is.

My plan is to experiment a bit further with the layout to see if I can used it as a forge (with the addition of some forced air) as well as an open cooking tool for the nicer summer days.

All in all it's a simple and effective thing to build and cost me a grand total of £4! Can also be pulled apart and reassembled wherever is required.

Good job there hope it works well. I heard that they can be VERY efficient when they work well! :)

Yes it works very very well when stoked properly, burns very efficiently and cooks well when using wood. I haven't tried anything such as coal yet.
