Right I know I'll get a bit of abuse and pointed towards other threads but I'm slightly confused.

Can anyone confirm all of RM's TV Series? I have Extreme Survival and Bushcraft Survival on DVD but I can't seem to find the RM World of Survival currently showing on Dave on DVD/Video at all. I'm currently taping and putting on to DVD which I'll offer up for a passaround on this site.

Can anyone confirm the books RM has written or assisted in writing? One of the guys talking about meeting RM at a recent lecture said that one of his books was somewhat rare. In the current publishing trend I'm surprised that any book published in the last 20 - 25 yrs is out of print.

Thanks for the help

The rare book you are talking about is his Survival Handbook, he said he didn't want it back in print, but he didn't say why.

If you search the forums, you may find the post showing all of his current books and which are worth getting for bushcraft info. I've done a quick search but can't seem to find it and I'm sure that Stuart wrote the post. As for his television stuff, I think Jodie did something on that.

Failing that, try Wikipedia, as his info is on there.

Cheers guys and thanks for the advice Nick. Is it really breaching copyright if I'm not charging though? The Hadze one was great and I'm devastated after some of our Middle Eastern Friends tried or have bought the Hadze land from the government for exclusive hunting trips. Shocking

It is copyright. I know anyone can tape it but as soon as you lend it it's illegal. There was a thread last year about this. I could show it in my classroombut must leave and show the credits. I do this for 'How It's Made', 'How it works' and 'Amercian Chopper', great for teaching design. I got an email at school today with a list of about 100 brit newspapers, and some will not allow any copying, even a sentence.

If you are just passing the DVD around and you expect to get it back at the end, I think you are OK. However, if you sell them or make multiple copies, you might be in dodgy ground.

Any lawyers out there?

TV series
To my knowledge only Bushcraft Survival, Extreme Survival and Wild Food are available
in DVD format. Tracks (and the variants Country Tracks etc.), Essential Guide to Rocks,
World of Survival, Extreme Jungle nee Trips that money can't buy and the Real Heroes
of Telemark aren't.

No idea if this is genuine but it claims to be official:

The books and DVDs with blue links go to Woodlore's online shop.

I don't know about the legality of sharing a DVD among mates but using a very public
forum to advertise that it's being done might be 'not quite right'. I think nobody really
knows the exact answer, but probably no-one wants to find out by being on the wrong
side of things :)

Woodlore make available an upcoming listings of programmes on Dave etc. at:

Also RadioTimes.com - http://www.radiotimes.com/

Books
Stuart did a very detailed post explaining the differences in book content and ISBN
numbers in post #5 here: http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=16705
Since then Wild Food has been released, co-written with Prof. Gordon Hillman.

General
There was a bit of a proliferation of RM-related threads last year and I tried to harvest
the main bits into one page - it's now out of date of course, but beyond the time limit
for editing!
http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=17687

If you are trying to click on any of the links and it sais 'the page cannot be found' then
replace 'community' with 'forum' in the URL and it should work.

Getting older series released as DVDs
Quite a few of us would like to have reasonable copies of some of the earlier stuff which
currently isn't available and there are a few examples of threads on that topic:

http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12244
http://www.bushcraftuk.com/forum/showthread.php?t=8121

(I always imagine my posts are neat pithy little things until I reach preview ;) )
