Review - Byrd Wrench

  • Come along to the amazing Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August), a festival of bushcrafting and camping in a beautiful woodland PLEASE CLICK HERE for more information.
Looks like there's been an editing glitch somewhere in para #3:

The wrench can be taken apart and used as separate tools: it’s possible to tighten a bolt with the screwdriver part whilst also holding the nut steady with the making the multi-tool almost twice as long if extra purchase or reach is needed on a stubborn screw. A point of note, however, the wrench has fairly large, smooth adjustable spanner in the other hand – something that would be impossible to do with other multi-tools! It’s also possible to open the wrench jaws 180 degrees teeth and the spanner is smooth which could prevent a problem with grip.

Great Review!goodjob

I have the Spyderwrench (essentially the same) I love it, its a marvel, very clever, well made as you would expect from Spyderco/Byrd and I would suspect for lots of people-very usefull. Sadly not me though!

Dead right about the blade though, certainly the best I have seen on any multitool and the ability to split it as well as the movers makes it unique and very usefull to anyone who would need these functions. As you said, for home/car use or I always thought someone in IT, or similar specialised technical work would have a fantastic companion. But not for a Joiner who does most outdoor activities

As I said I love mine and I will never get rid of it, I am a big Spyderfan and I need a multitool with me at most times but I have never taken mine out (which goes against everything I believe in that no knife should be a drawer queen!:D) but then it was a gift............ I have two Charges, in my experience and opinion the best and most usable multitools around, and whilst the Spyderco matches it for quality and design, for me, for a hard use tool it is a long way short!

Cheers!

Marc
