recycling Christmas Trees

There's a number of trees appearing in my car park already, and I am just thinking can they be used for making stuff?

Scout staves or Pioneering poles, depending on size.

If the trees a big ones save the bottom/thicker part of the trunk for carving. I made a spoon tree decoration out of a bit of last years tree.
