Hey guys just thought id share a little project i did yesterday in the shed for a few hours. I made a antler Skinner from an old TK friction folder blade i had and this is how it turned out. Hope you like!
Heres all the components...
This is the TK friction folder blade, which i ground down to a tang, using the original pivot hole to rivet the blade in place. The blade may look abit mucky but this is intentional as i left it in brown source over night to tarnish the blade and make it look more aged!
I then drilled the antler marrow so that the tang fit in with a bit of room, and then drilled my rivet hole and made a bolster out of thick 5mm leather.
Last step was putting it all together. I put extra strong glue in the hole and once the tang was in and flush i riveted it in place to make sure it was in line.
after a clean up, this it what it turned out like...
And finally i made a small sheath that i wanted to keep rustic looking like the knife. The stitching is done with jute cord.
