Recommend a hipflask

  • Hey Guest, Early bird pricing on the Summer Moot (21st July - 2nd August) available until March 31st, we'd love you to come. PLEASE CLICK HERE to early bird price and get more information.
I don’t know, I quite like your idea of a 5 Litre hipflask.

:D

Funny the conversation came round to giant hip flasks- I got one of these for a quid at a boot sale this summer, an unwanted present: https://www.notonthehighstreet.com/david-louisdesign/product/giant-enormous-hip-flask

Being the classic shape scaled up, the curve happens to fit against my middle perfectly. I intend to braze on some d-rings so it can be worn against base layer suspended by braces. Filled with hot water it will be ideal central heating for frosty mornings picking rose hips, sloes and haws.

Replace that water with mulled wine and I think you’re onto something.

There maybe a joke in here about potentially having deep pockets but I wanted something fit for picnic use. 1.7l of liquid joy.

That’s one hell of a picnic, I like it.

Thanks . You are invited.

The idea was white wine is only nice wine if cooled. And transporting glass bottles safely to nice picnic spots can be hit'n'miss - so decant into the metal flask and find a nice stream to half submerge it in to keep it chilled.

Thats the idea. practicality maybe different as I change plan and bulk mix cocktails.

Ah, wine, that makes more sense now :)

I have a 1.9 litre Kleen Kanteen stainless steel vacuum flask.

When I was working from home, I used to make a batch of tea in the morning, get down about 3/4 of it by noon and top it up with hot water for the afternoon.

I have a second one that I'm saving for chilled drinks in the summer.

So you walk to the picnic site, and crawl home? Are Garden picnics a thing?

Romantic type Picnic Bill.
Babbling brook.
Lambs frolicking in the glade.
Cheese.
Bread.
Charcuterie.
A Little wine.
Maybe a cigar.

No need to rush it. Long summers days :) take ones time.
