Evening all,

I've long looked the look of the Luna from Real Steel, they look elegant and practical.

Do I need it? Absolutely not. Do I want it? I do rather.

Does anyone have any experience with this Luna with the red glow in the dark scales? The reviews on Heinnie's seem a little mixed on whether they do actually glow in the dark (GITD) in addition to the G10 not being textured unlike the 'standard' non-GITD red Heinnie's exclusive.

Thoughts and suggestions welcome.

Regarding Lunas.
Real steel stuff is very good and quality is excellent, they feel like a much higher priced product amd have excellent resale value. Had my Luna for 3 years and there is no sign of wear, the D" steel is showing no sign of rust or tarnish. The weight is awesome and it's very ergonomic, only gripe is the pocket clip which is not very strong. Mine just wen't to my girlfriend who is very happy with the ergonomics and red colour ad I'm treating myself to a newly released tanto.

In short, there is a reason it's the first and mostly recommended "budget" EDC knife on all knife forums and groups.

Red is not going to glow bright or long, it’s way down the spectrum, green and cyan type blues are most effective. However, I’m all too familiar with that itch, consequently a Civivi Elementum in Ultem arrived for me today. That’s my third Elementum, and this one in a scale material I really wasn’t sure about.

Completely OT, but the Stella is a far nicer knife, has almost Spyderco Balance symmetry.

Just to mess with you more...

That one is great! That being said, I really don't want to deal with that company, they are apparently useless when things go wrong with sharps and the UK. I used to buy from them long ago though and they were good.

Thank you for the confidence-inspiring post in their products. The Luna does seem to be everywhere online, in a very good way.

Was it the G Tanto that you've gone for? I do rather like the look of that, but prefer the theoretical back spring security of the Luna vs. the double detente of the G Tanto. But the G will be far more fun to fidget with.

Yeah I caved over the weekend on the red GITD. The thing I'm most wary of is the lack of texturing compared to the other G10 Lunas, but I'll see what it's like when it arrives.

That Ultem looks great on the Elementum.

Agreed on the Stella, it looks great. Less OHO-able though, and I prefer the blade profile of the Luna (judging purely from pictures).

I think the tanto is a aquired taste where Luna is universally pretty. I'm really happy with my choice espacially the blade tip is much more stout than one on the Luna.

There was a bit of a mix up so I received the thumb stud instead of, rather than in addition to the Luna. I'll see if there are some other interesting Luna variants around before ordering it again.

I'm pleased with this Luna Lite - decided against the untextured GITD red of the Heinnie's model. The thumb stud was a royal pain to get on because the long pull is not evenly ground so one side starts before the other, and the 'pinched' nature of the thumb stud (it's kind of C shaped to ride into the long pull grooves) means it can't go on the way it should. Wonky grinds expected from a knife of this price, but they're a daft company to make components for them that require the stock knife to be consistently manufactured.

Great blade action, slicey blade, very pocket friendly. The handle arrived a bit grubby from Heinnie's, and it's only picking up more! This sky blue G10 (the below photo on my screen makes it look darker than it is) is a grub magnet. Pleased at the price point.

Should you fancy a play with the washed Ti Stella Premium, gimme a shout and I don’t mind getting it over. I get what you say about OHO, but you’ll forgive it quickly.

That blue looks good on the Lite, one of the reasons I’m hitting the Civivis and Petrified Fish is the colour choices. For £20 to your door I’d definitely advise a
