OK, so some of this is old hat to the venerable bushies.
I am pretty poor at "wild fooding" but even I knew some things and was amazed that Ray had never tried wilted nettles before. Other bits were new to me -cat tail stalks for hand drill fire lighting for instance - and I found it informative and lighthearted (seeing Ray spit out wild food was great!).
Rays canoe technique needs work (poor body rotation lack of verticality in the paddle etc) but he is introducing bushcraft skills to those who need work to improve THEIR skill (ie me) in other fields.
I love the prof. and would love to go on a Wild food course with him as instructor - I am sure I would learn loads!
I find the series enthralling on several levels - I also enjoy archeological series such as Meet the Ancestors, Time Team etc as they show how people lived before the internet and Nylon existed - a scenario I would love to return to (except that I would miss this site!)
Ray may have his failings, the programs may not be to everyones taste but I like em all!
Long live the prof!

you're looking for an instructional series on wild food.

I'm not as it goes. :) The whole thing puts me in mind of the later River Cottage series, nothing new to say but there's still residual appetite for the concept.

I suppose at least we should be grateful that Ray isn't singing in this series (yet).
