Rawhide sheets?

Hi everyone, I'm a little stuck I can't seem to find any rawhide sheets A4 in size is sufficient for a couple of projects I would like to do, I'd like to make some lanterns.
I have tried the dog bone type soaking in water but I found it a little too coarse and rough and thick TBH, and it didn't look good at all when finished.
Can anyone point me in the right direction please.

There used to be a guy called Bambi (Martin, I think) on the old British Blades site. He regarded rawhide as nature's kevlar. Made the most beautiful sheaths. I think he was from Netherlands - so maybe you can find him and his work on one of the European knife sites
