My trail cam took this night time photo which I think is just a large rabbit. However, I have seen hares about and the critter in the pic seems to have larger ears so could it be a hare?

Anyone know how to tell the two instantly apart at a fair distance or in poor light?

Looks like a rabbit to me - I would be looking for a more vertical line to the forehead from the nose in a hare, and a different set to the leg; bigger and again more vertical..............an altogether more athletic and stronger looking animal.

I may be wrong, I often am!.........................atb mac
