Wow those are posh ones Bilmo - no wonder they're expensive - the ones I have in mind have a split in the plastic cross-piece, rather than replaceable steel pins.

Black ideally Globetrotter - but any dark colour would do.

I should probably just be less idle and get the needle and nylon thread out and put regular ones on - I have a bag with rubbishy conventional-type buckles that would be much better with quick release.

Thanks guys

Thanks Jared.

I wonder if that's £2 for 2 or one?

I need three, so it's either £4, or £6 for me.

Either way I thought I could get ten for three quid from somewhere.

I think I just need to sew normal ones on.

I have a scar and still can't make a complete fist from an operation on a broken and dislocated finger, which I see as a good reason not to buy cheap QR buckles for webbing (On load bearing straps). :(

Actually you can just buy the normal ones and slit them yourself. Just be sure to make the slit diagonally as pictured in the ones for sale.

I think the main problem people encounter is when the broken or missing half of a buckle is held captive on a stitched loop; this is when you need one with the slot. As Santaman posted above it's not difficult to cut a slot in a normal one as long as it's of a decent quality...............
