I have the deluxe asym zipped expedition it's a lovely bit of kit. I use rapelling rings and a carabina for super fast set up. And snake skins are brilliant.

Classic for me, no problem for normal hanging, a little bit awkward when I use the Handy Hammock stand as it low to the ground

I have a classic expedition deluxe.used the velcro entry for a year or two then matt at UK hammocks put a zip in it.best thing I ever did.

If you're thinking about a side zip why not get a Blackbird instead? A flatter lay with the footbox and the added benefit of the shelf for storage.

Tomcoles can you post a pic of your set up please are you using the original rope?? Do the rings go on the carabina

It's an old climbing technique, I've used on 14mm ropes while working on trees.
You don't actually *need* the rings, two karabiners will work. It's just smoother with rings.
