Bored today and been meaning to have ago at this for a while after seeing Firecrest's great work but cant afford a machine at the mo so ground down the tip on my soldering iron and had a crack on some scrap. Really pleased with the results. Going to do a few more and hopefully soon I'll be able to afford one of the machines

Wow that's superb for a first effort.

I'm dying to give it a go on a spoon I made but my soldering iron's packed in :(

Thats fantastic Jungle_re. And its fun isnt it? ;)
well worth you investing in the better machine there is much more control over it.

Nice work,:Wow::wow1: I tryed this the other day with a cheap soldering iron:rolleyes: I found it hard to control the soldering iron as you have to hold it so far back in you hand:(
All I could do was dot dot dot:confused:

Looks a good iron. Going to carry on practicing with the cheap lidl iron and buy a proper pyrograph when i can afford it

just mad a wind in the willow badge for my PFD
