Nice to use a lighter coloured wood for a change.

Saddle tan sheath with black edge is in order I think.

All the best.

Hi again.

Well finally finished the sheath for this.

I decided to try making a liner from some Beech this time...

To my eyes the end result seems better proportioned than my previous efforts & will be alot safer to carry in the field. I might run some glue down the seam as the two layers separated a little as it finished drying overnight & I wasn't around to keep burnishing them back down.

I did enjoy the process though & I'll be making more liners like this I think. Thanks again to BB/BCUK members for the inspiration & information, it was Scoutmasters stacked birch puukko project that set me off on the shaped liners.

i allways admired your woodworking skills,(saying it frankly i'm a bit jealous!!!),but let's say your leatherworking skills aren't bad.
i greatly like that sheath! and that stingray tail style end of sheath, plus the middle edge in the leather!
how do you do that? liner seems not to have such a shape?

Thank you all for your very kind comments.

Flexo - the liner has all the ridges they just don't show up in the photo very well because I had to use a flash at the time.
