Pulse Ox

Without wanting to get into a debate on the pro's and cons of such devices, can anyone recommend a decent quality Pulse ox? They seem to range in price from a tenner to several hundreds and there are many on the market.

Any suggestions on which pulse ox to go for? or which to avoid?

What is your need for it, it will effect the recommendations.

For occasional checking of pulse and oxygen saturation, purely for myself.

I carry one of these for prescribing / titrating oxygen, I've tested it against much more expensive ones and even with low sats it's within 1%. I think I read that it's the cheapest fda approved one available.

I've seen some crazy results with cheap ones.

That sounds like good advice. Viamed products are used in the nhs. Never seen that model in use however.

I've been using the NONIN GO2 Achieve for about 8 years now. Very reliable. I use it in a physiology course I teach. Reasonable price for the quality.

I use a Nonin as well good kit.
