Silkstone, Blighty!
Yup, I was in 51 when it was Airmobile - Hurgh!! (That's supposed to be a Rambo style grunt!!) The Badge (Sergeant Major to those wondering what the hell I'm on about) was one Colin Yates or Whispering Death due to the fact that he never shouted, his wife was a Sergeant in the US Rangers aswell!! I tried looking at Ploce on the google earth thing, but I can't quite find it. Maybe it's not covered by the satellite thingy!!

Where you with 35 at the time?

Back on topic, if you want to see a puffing billy in action, slap Rambo into your DVD player and go to the part after Rambo just kicked butt and Trautmann tips up. In fact, it's around the 40 minutes and 50 seconds mark (God, the things I do for this forum!!) You get a good view of the Billy, and then a second shot that shows you the fuel tank.

I'll get my coat!!

Edit: Just re-read your last post. Where you actually with the legion at the time, as I seem to recall that two brothers met up for the first time in a number of years because one was with the legion.

nope
I was with 216 parachute signal squadron (Maroon Mong), attached to 24 airmobile, then re-attached to 2 rep Legion (long winded :D ) doing "stuff" :D

the legion posteing was the worst one I have ever done :) , their Rations were disgusting, and their discipline was just as bad.

colin yates had one of the maddest haircuts I have ever seen :)

Hi Leon,

I’d forgotten about Ash Vale Range! Was it the “Swan” on the right on the way in, just on the canal?
