I'd asked my tool guy on Colne indoor market to sort me a few scrap square and round old UK made files for us to start having a go at forging with so since I had the chance I went over today to pick them up.
While he was at it he sorted out all the files not worth him doing up for sale to take in to weigh. He offered me the lot for a very reasonable amount so I snapped them up.
Theres 88 of the suckers, Bedfords, Stubbs, Tyzack and Turners etc etc. to be honest a few are too good to use as bar stock and I'll pickle them to see which is worth doing a full restore on them.
Just need to wait for a dry day when my little helper is available to pump the bellows now.
Oh! One thing I do need to do is make a cut out in or lower all of the narrow side at the front so the work piece can be put in horizontally rather than angled down.
